Greetings! I am 39, white, male, divorced, new to this site. More than anything, I am seeking a companion and partner with whom I can relate on a similar intellectual and emotional level. It's been rather challenging for me in this regard, because my admittedly limited dating experience has resulted in meeting some very nice women, but whose interests include discussing their job and their favorite American Idol. Predictably, the date(s) end(s) rather quickly. I would LOVE to meet a woman with whom I can discuss literature, politics, philosophy, religion, world events, music, useless trivia, food and drink, sports, history, culture, and movies. I love to laugh, and I tend to be more optimistic than pessimistic. I also acknowledge that I have made poor choices in my life. (Sometimes, for a reasonably smart guy, I can be pretty dumb!)I am a firm believer that EQ (emotional quotient) is just as valid as IQ, and so the cliche "no drama" is, to me at least, not applicable in my life. (Besides, doesn't EVERYONE have just a LITTLE BIT of drama in their lives?) I am a proud, card-carrying socialist and an unreconstructed, unrepentant liberal in attitude, experience(s), and outlook. However, I am always open to changing my viewpoints as I do believe in change and keeping my options open. I love sudoku, crosswords, cryptograms, word play and trivia games. I am a voracious reader outside of my job, and I am also planning to return to school in the fall.
