I’ve finally finished “Crime and Punishment” and…find myself, with this book, extremelely impressed by Dostoyevsky’s writing abilities. (I read in “Notes” in college and yet didn’t feel quite as moved.) I know that must sound pretty grossly naive, simple and pretentious all at once–this is of course FIDOR DOSTOYEVSKY we’re discussing–but I’m not the type of person to be so easily convinced by the assignment of defintive iconic literary brilliance by the amorphous ‘everyone.’... Lonekiltedninja's Blog Thoughts from the industry
Posted by Lonekiltedninja on 2010-01-31 16:50:02.

[... come on, intellectual people! Write about things! You think I like co-opting the whole Home page blogs box?] You'd think that in a high-stakes, highly-competitve, high-tech industry, if there was a saying on failure it would be "don't." And yet, in all the years I've spent leading up to and entering gaming tech, it has been quite the opposite. There are quite a few attitudes from academics and work that I can't help but bring with me to dating, so while they're on my mind, I figure I should... No comments

Lonekiltedninja's Blog Reading material

The analogy has already been made, I'm sure, and not being a very heavy reader I may not be qualified to restate it, but people really are a bit like books. There are a whole lot of them out there, and they're all unique and complex. Different ones are suited to different tastes, and some are simply of higher or lower quality on a subjective basis. If you're actually looking for meaningful content, shopping on the title and cover art alone is going to leave you disappointed most of the time, but... One comment

Lonekiltedninja's Blog Here we go again
Posted by Lonekiltedninja on 2009-11-08 17:45:49.

Coming back onto the market, not that I imagine anyone noticed I left. I must say this site has been better to me than others I've tried, even the odd pay site. I've met women on the greater PassionsNetwork ranging from engaging to outright wonderful, the wonderful having recently ended- cleanly, for reasons beyond our control, and with only well-meaning feelings, but ended nonetheless. So as of the moment (Nov. 8 2009, if you didn't read the post date) I am perhaps a bit hazardous to get too... No comments

Clipframe's Blog The morning after a show in Seattle.

I suspect I'm part of a war between the neighbours; and soon enough, the doorbell rings. I am a guest, pressed up against the wall, closest to the screen door. A man outside, with a bald head -- no shirt. The sun is behind him. Light bouncing off him, as if he's in a film. Very smooth. His eyes are adjusting to the light inside. He looks without seeing me. I'm right here in the hall, holding a cup of bad coffee. If I had a split second more time I could have disappeared around the corner of the... One comment

Oui's Blog Goddamn it

Goddamn it!! I don't know why I join these sites- looking up people's profiles, visiting the chat room (only to find it void), all whilst listening to the Cabaret soundtrack, wondering what happened to the world: "Life is a cabaret old chum, come to the Cabaret!!" Was it ever a Cabaret, or did Sally Bowles only imagine it? Is this all there is these days? Cold, sterile computers? You may or may not find someone. You'll definitely not like your job, that's a given. Even with a college degree- Mensa... 2 comments

Ptyxis's Blog That's life

There is a previous post here saying that I was exchanging emails with a man who was interested in long term relations. What has happened since then is that this man is several hundred kilometers from me and is unwilling to move from his location in the United States. I am in Canada and am also unwilling to move. He is reluctant to get into a real involvement with a woman because he has never been in one before, and he is 40 years old. I eventually stopped writing to him because it became evident... This personality test I did says I am an INTJ. It says this means I am unusual. It says: you are more intoverted than extroverted. You are intuitive. You are more thinking based than feeling based. You plan rather than leaving things to chance. You are a 'rational', only 1% of the population shares your type. You are strong willed and self-confident. You actively try to control things. You will only adopt rules and ideas if they make sense. You are a brainstormer who comes up with creative solutions... One comment

Ptyxis's Blog Please write!

Am I the only one on this site who will write in their blog? Where is everyone? I'm alone as usual. There is no intellectual passion here. Irony. One comment

Ptyxis's Blog

I have read thousands of mens profiles through two social networking sites over six months but discovered no one that interests me so much that I would continue to communicate with them. I had sent out several introductory emails to individuals I was in doubt of, and have recieved some introductory emails from men who were not of interest because they were nothing similar to me, or had any qualities I wanted. On March 1st, I emailed a man because his profile revealed an unusual similarity of disposition...
